Choose Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color Cast. To use the Remove Color Cast Command, follow these simple steps: Enable the Remove Color Cast command, and it will automatically remove the unwanted tint from the image. The Remove Color Cast Command in Photoshop is the easiest, simplest, and most effective way to remove color cast from your images.
The methods are pretty straightforward, and you will only need a few simple clicks to restore the condition of your pictures. There are three different ways to remove color cast in Photoshop.

Part 2: 3 Methods to Fix Color Cast Images in Photoshop For instance, incandescent bulbs will create a reddish pigment on the image, while the presence of neon color around you will create a solid blue color cast on the object being photographed. Modern cameras work exceptionally well to capture the target, but it also means that they will pick up any subtle light source around them. This causes the color from one object to be reflected on another object. The picture is being photographed near a reflected ambient light source.For example, the light source around you has a tint to it. Certain light types can cause cameras to render a color cast.Usually, a color cast occurs because of two reasons: The yellow or orange tint affects the natural tones of the image, making it look unrealistic and damaged. Click Open Object if you want to do more work on it in Photoshop, or click Cancel if you want to close Camera Raw with none of the changes applied. Whichever of these three methods you use, click Done to close Camera Raw with the changes to your photo. Almost instantly, you’ll see the color cast disappears. The ideal would be a gray balance card, but obviously that’s not going to happen in most candid photographs. Method 3: Use The Eyedropper To Find A Neutral ColorĪnother quick and easy way to fix a color cast is to use the Eyedropper tool in Camera Raw to pick up the color of something that SHOULD be a neutral color. As I drag slowly towards magenta, the green hue is reduced. Looking at the Tint slider, you can see how it ranges from green on the left to neutral in the middle, to magenta on the right. This removes the yellow-y look, but now the picture is looking a little bit green, so I’ll use the Tint slider next.Ģ. Drag the Temperature slider to the right to warm the image. If your image is too warm or yellow looking, drag the slider to the left to cool it down. Open your photograph in either Camera Raw or the Camera Raw filter. This time the picture was taken indoors but it has a very strong yellow tint.ġ. If you want to take more control over how you fix the color cast, you can use the Temperature and Tint sliders. Method 2: Fix A Color Cast Using The Temperature And Tint Sliders Note: If you are working on a jpg rather than a Raw file, you won’t have as many options in the White Balance menu.
Often choosing Auto will do a pretty good fix for a color cast. As you run through the options in the drop-down, you’ll see how your image is affected. Click on the White Balance drop-down menu.
